Group sittings

Australia

Group sittings are valuable opportunities to strengthen your practice of Vipassana.  By sitting with fellow students who are following the same technique, you can meditate more seriously and gain support that will help you to keep practising on your own.

Group sittings are held regularly at all Centres and Dhamma Houses and also as shown below.  If there is no contact in your area and you would like to start a group sitting to serve the meditators of your area, please contact your nearest Centre.  If you have problems or questions concerning your meditation practice or Vipassana in daily life, you are free to contact any assistant teacher through your nearest Centre.  Please note that the information listed below may have changed since this page was published. Therefore it is advisable to confirm with the relative group sitting contact person (or your local centre) prior to attending a particular group sitting for the first time.

Hosting a group sitting

If you are interested in hosting a group sitting, download the Guidelines for newsletter contacts and group sittings (Word document) – this includes an application for world contacts and group sitting hosts.
